''Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley'' is a farm simulation role-playing game developed by Tabot, Inc. for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in North America in November 4, 2014, and released in Europe on June 19, 2015. Unlike previous titles named ''Harvest Moon'' in the West, there are no plans to release the game in Japan,〔http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/06/natsume_announces_harvest_moon_the_lost_valley_for_a_2014_release_on_3ds〕 and it was not developed by Marvelous Entertainment. Their newest entry in the series, ''Story of Seasons'', is being published in North America by XSEED Games. Natsume owns the rights to the brand "Harvest Moon," meaning that XSEED is not allowed to use it.〔http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/28/harvest-moon-returns-in-story-of-seasons-on-3ds〕
It is also the first ''Harvest Moon'' game in nearly a decade to feature the return of the original protagonist, Pete, whom last appeared in the title, ''Harvest Moon DS''.
